Wednesday I had a very nice lunch with Justine, Carolyn's friend who has moved here with her husband for his job. Another friend I had introduced her to also came. So we went to the Pier, our nice place on the riverfront. Justine really liked it. I am having fun introducing her to the good points and shopping places in Quincy. What a good new friend for me.
The rest of the day I spent mostly on the couch. My throat is weakened from that flu, and I don't want to end up with laryngitis like before. So I mostly watched TV and slept. That is why I am wide awake at 3 AM!
I did some more sorting through Christmas decorations and have several more sacks and boxes to move on. Carrie will come over and take a look through it and see if there are any treasures from her childhood that she wants. And Chris wants the nativity set we had for over 30 years, the ceramic one that was made by a man with no hands. (He had hooks for hands, and his wife helped him. I was so impressed when I bought the set at a craft show in 1975.) I am trying to find new homes for things that I have decorated with for a long time. I also went through some spring clothes over the past couple of days that I will send on to another home if they work.
Made reservations for Las Vegas a few days back. Mom wants to get out there to see Eddie's family, so I got online and found tickets for $239 at Southwest for March 5-9. There are 7 of us going. Mom, Carolyn, and I are staying with Eddie and Connie, and looks like Kathy and Rick and Marty and Randy will stay at Harrah's or a nearby casino. We will take in the Donnie and Marie show on Saturday night for our big hurrah. I also hope to get out to Phoenix since we won't see Chris' family again until June. That is just too long for Grandma Ginny to go without some baby doll squeezes. So I will check into that soon.
On Thursday morning, I am going to try to start back walking again at the mall with Judy. I don't know if I will get very far, but I will give it a go. Amazing how quickly you get out of shape. I don't think I have walked since before Christmas. Gotta keep movin.'
